Archimedes

Archimedes is an owl hero of Auradon and an ally to Merlin and Arthur. He debuted in the 1963 animated film The Sword in the Stone. He appears as a minor character in the novel Return to the Isle of the Lost, and in the Barnes & Noble exclusive edition of Beyond the Isle of the Lost: Wonderland.

Archimedes is Merlin's companion, whom he accompanies when he wants to become Wart's tutor, with Archimedes also helping Wart with lessons such as the alphabet, or teaching him to fly when Merlin turns him into a bird. After an argument between Wart and Merlin in which the latter leaves, Archimedes stays by his side, witnessing how Wart takes out the Sword in the Stone, becoming known as King Arthur. Desperate from the pressure, Arthur calls Merlin, who along with Archimedes stays by his side while he reigns.

Archimedes appears as a metallic owl and acts as a defense mechanism that is stationed inside Merlin's office. To prevent Red and Chloe from taking the Sorcerer's Cookbook, he flew out to warn Merlin.
