Cruella De Vil[]

(Mother)

Out of all the VKs, he arguably has one of the worst relationships with his villain parent. This is shown by the fact that she was not above using him like a servant and was even considered less important to her than her furs, something Carlos is aware of but doesn't like to talk about. She also instilled a deep fear of dogs within Carlos, but when Carlos was given the choice of going to Auradon Prep and having to deal with dogs (which he thought were rabid animals ready to attack) and dealing with his mother, he was more than willing to leave causing his mother to call him an ingrate as he rushed to the car to get away from her. He seems to fear his parent more than the other VKs (even more than Mal, who is afraid of her mother but more so of her disappointment) and was the last to choose good because of his fear of what his mother would do to him. Despite this he was able to fight back against his mother, as shown when she wanted to use the mascot dog dude as a new pair of ear muffs he fought back and refused, even calling her fake dog head stuffed. He did also ultimately choose good and move away from his mother's influence.

In Descendants 3, Carlos wanted introduce his girlfriend Jane to his mother, despite their strain relationship. He also mentions he plans on being a vet, which made him nervous to tell her.

She held an initial fear of VKs including Carlos. After the Family Day incident she wasn't above ridiculing the VKs out loud but mostly Mal. During the end of the film, she accepts the VKs and even dances with Carlos. In Rise of the Isle of the Lost, Carlos encouraged Jane to try out for cheerleading and preferred her shorter hair.

In episode 24 when Audrey accused Mal of turning evil again, Carlos ended arguing with Jane and Lonnie. Needless to say with Jane saw Mal break into the Museum and stole Jafar's Staff she told Carlos and the other VKs.

In "Talking Heads", Carlos got into an argument with Jane and Lonnie about Mal turning evil again. Despite this, Jane spied on Mal and told Carlos.

In Descendants 2, Carlos really wants to ask Jane to the Cotillion, but he always chickens out at the last moment. With the help of Dude, he manages to ask her and finds out his strong feelings for her are reciprocated. They tell Fairy Godmother at the Cotillion and are seen dancing and laughing as a couple at the end.

In Escape from the Isle of the Lost: A Descendants Novel, Jane and Carlos were the only ones from their friend group to not graduate, due to being younger than their peers.

In Descendants 3, Jane and Carlos are still together. Carlos put a lot of time and effort into making sure he does something really special for Jane's birthday like buying her a cake (that everyone but Jane eats during the course of the movie). Meanwhile Jane was waiting for Carlos for her birthday and trust that Carlos didn't forget why he was late from Chad, who thinks he forgot, which Jane defended that birthdays are not a culture on the Isle. Later Carlos gives Jane a "Jarlos" necklace he made her himself with his printer. Jane is so happy with the gift and the fact that he remembered her birthday. At the end of the movie, Carlos was going to introduce Jane to his mother Cruella and tell his mother his plans to become a vet.

After Carlos passed, Jane was devastated. Given the time of his death was likely recent, Jane likely didn't attend Mal and Ben's wedding due to taken some off time for herself; to grieve and make peace. Although given how Mal said all of her friends were at the wedding, it is implied that Jane was in the background in Descendants: The Royal Wedding.

Jay[]

Jay is Carlos's best friend. The two are usually seen hanging around each other and interacting positively though they tend to get into fights throughout the film due to Jay's aggressive dominating thieving personality. The two fought with each other over eating candy in the limo and then Jay tried stealing a blanket Carlos wanted. The two both enjoyed playing video games in their dorm. The two also joined the Tourney team though Jay was far more successful due to the skills he acquired from thieving. However, after being taught by the coach that being a team meant working with each other, Jay insisted Carlos be included in the game and the two won.

In the past it is revealed when the two were younger, Jay was one of the VKs who bullied Carlos and didn't believe Evie when she told him and Mal that he punch a hole in the dome. But Jay grew close to Carlos, when they bonded over their pets; with Jay's electric eels; Lagan and Derelict and Carlos' cat Beelzebub. Jay gave Carlos bug spray while giving Mal and Evie small silver knives, while he gave himself a machete. Jay also showed sympathy for Carlos after realizing what his life with his mother is like and finding out she loves her furs more than Carlos.

In Descendants 2, Carlos approach Jay to ask Jane out only for Jay to not give him good advice. Carlos and Jay went to Auradon to use Carlos' 3D printer to create a fake wand. After the group rescues Ben and returns to Auradon, Carlos tells Mal and Evie that he and Jay are tired of being excluded from private conversations, saying that they should all face their problems together as a family. Jay initially backs down, but Carlos stands firm making Jay participate. Despite Jay not saying much, he did encourage Mal to come to Cotillion.

In Descendants 3, Jay and Carlos went to look for Ben, who was transformed into a beast. Carlos manage to calms him long enough to remove a splinter from his paw with Jay also gives a worry glance when Carlos gets closer to Ben, while also holding back Gil and Harry Hook from interferring.

After Carlos passed, Jay was devastated and continued to miss Carlos, his best friend and little-brother figure. Jay honored his best friend by coming back from his trip with Gil and watch over Mal and Evie for him.

In Descendants: The Royal Wedding, when Mal mentions she wish Carlos could be here, Jay is seen only silently nodded in sorrow and sadness of Carlos' absence when he left with Mal and Evie to get Hades. In "Feeling the Love", Jay is seen with a big smile and extra space when Mal was walking down with Hades, showing Jay's care for Carlos. After Carlos' crest sparkled on Mal's charm bracelet, Jay gave a happy smile as Carlos' spirit is present and he'll always be with him.

Mal and the Truth Gummy — Carlos and Mal

Mal is the leader of the reformed VKs so he often followed her lead. She often had to remind him to stay focused such as when he was distracted by video games when they were supposed to be discussing where the wand was located. Despite this the two are shown to be close friends as she cheered for him when he won the Tourney tournament with Jay. She also managed to convince Carlos to join the good side as she understood him well enough to know he enjoyed being with Dude the mascot dog and being at Auradon.

In the past it is revealed when the two were younger, Mal was one of the VKs who bullied Carlos but grew close to him. The novel mentions that Carlos knew Mal since sixth grade where they worked on a project at his house and she went into Cruella's fur closet but Carlos saved her from the traps which resulted him getting two white scars on his caf. Mal had pressure Carlos into hosting a party at his house to get back at Evie by lockign her in Cruella's fur closet but Carlos foiled her revenge, making her annoyed with him. Carlos appears to notice that Mal isn't bad as she appears, which he explained to Evie when he first meet her in Dragon Hall class and at his house, thinking Mal will let go of the grudge, in both cases Carlos ultimately was right, as Mal later saved Evie from being cursed by the Dragon's Eye. After learning of the hole in the dome, which released Diablo, Mal found out Carlos was the one who broke the barrier, Mal recruited him and became closer to Carlos, feeling bad how his mother Cruella treated him as a servant by cleaning her car and doing chores by himself. She also showed sympathy when he told a gargoyle that he is aware that Cruella love her furs more than her son.

In Wicked World, she was annoyed when Carlos took a while to turn everyone back from dogs to people but she was concerned when he and Jay didn't come to pick her and the others up to the Neon Lights Ball. Overall, she seems to act like an older sister to him. In episode 24 when Audrey accused Mal of turning Evil Again, Carlos defended her, arguing with Jane and Lonnie.

In Descendants 2, Carlos had Mal create a truth gummy for him to speak his true feelings to Jane, but Dude ate it instead and started to talk. After returning to Auradon, Carlos stopped Mal and Evie to sneak away for a private conversation, reminding them that he and Jay are Mal’s family too. His words encourage Mal to open up about her fears and frustrations — that she feels like she’s pretending to be someone she’s not. Carlos tells her to be herself and reassures her that if Ben doesn’t love the real Mal, then he isn’t the one for her.

In Descendants 3, Mal showed concern for Carlos when Hades attacked him, Ben, and Jay. When Ben is transformed into a beast by Audrey, Carlos manage to calm him down and with Jane's help, turn him back into Ben.

After Carlos passed, Mal was devastated and continued to miss her best friend and little-brother figure. Mal appeared to take Carlos' death the hardest of the four VKs. This was shown even after his death in Descendants: The Royal Wedding, where her heart continued to grieve, despite when she happily claimed all of her friends were at the wedding and while getting her father Hades, Mal paused and stopped with a sad expression, looking at the empty space between her and Jay. Evie and Jay notice this and Mal opens up, saying she just wish Carlos was still here to be physically present at her wedding. Mal's wish came true as Carlos' chest sparkled her charm bracelet, and the other crests, meaning Carlos' spirit is present and telling her he'll always be with her, much to Mal's clear joy and happiness.

Evie[]

While the two had less interaction, they were shown to be close. While the two did not have much interaction during the film, the two were shown to get along. She cheered for him during the Tourney tournament and it is revealed in the past that Evie was Carlos's first friend, he also considers her to be the sweetest girl he knows.

In Descendants 2, Evie is shown to look out for Carlos helping him fight off some of Uma's goons. When Evie tried to take Mal aside for a private talk, Carlos surprised her by stepping in and saying no—firmly reminding them that he and Jay were Mal’s family too. He insisted that they all sit down together as a group. Carlos tells Mal if Ben dosen't love the real her then he is not the one, which Evie agrees and whispers a small thank you to Carlos.

In Descendants 3, Evie continued to look after Carlos, as when Hades attacked the group, Carlos was struck down, and Evie immediately rushed to his side to check on him. She later checked on him again at the abandoned house.

After Carlos passed, Evie was devastated and continued to miss Carlos, her first friend and little brother figure. Needless she honored her friend by continuing to be there for Mal and Jay.

In Descendants: The Royal Wedding, Evie noticing Mal was sad because Carlos was no longer with them, which Evie also shared her sorrow and grief that Carlos was absent at Mal's wedding. It is implied Evie took ownership of Dude after his death, given how she scold him for chasing Lizard Maleficent and dances with Dude, Carlos’s dog, in "Feeling the Love", giving a reminder of her connection to Carlos. Since Carlos' crest sparkled on Mal's charm bracelet, Evie realized Carlos' spirit is present and he'll always be with her, much to Evie's clear joy.

Ben[]

While the two don't interact much, the two were shown to get along well in the film. Ben tried to socialize and be friends with all the VKs and he helped Carlos get ready for the Tourney tournament and getting accustomed to dogs through the mascot dog Dude. The two are shown to interact positively in Wicked World episode 10 "Spirit Day" where he let Jay hit Carlos for not helping them when they were turned into dogs until Mal pressured him to help. Despite this, Ben was worried when Carlos and Jay didn't arrive to pick up the girls.

After Carlos passed, Ben was devastated and continued to miss his friend. Given that Mal wished Carlos was here at her wedding, meaning Ben also felt Carlos should of been with them. Ben was present when Carlos' symbol sparkled Mal's charm bracelet, that Jay and Evie gave her as an early wedding gift, meaning Carlos' spirit is present and he'll always be with him, which made Ben smile with joy and happiness, showing he was glad Carlos was at the wedding.

Dude the Dog[]

Carlos De Vil is Dude's owner and best friend. The two were first introduced back in Descendants when Ben introduced Carlos to Dude to help take care of his dog fear instated by his mother. Since then the two did almost everything with each other.

In Descendants 2, when Mal brings Carlos a truth gummy to help him get his feelings out to Jane, Dude eats it and gains the ability to talk, much to Carlos and Mal's shock. When Ben gets captured by Uma, Carlos firmly tells Dude to stay but he doesn't listen and gets in the trunk of the limo and goes to the Isle with them. Dude proved to be a pivotal piece of the plot later when Uma asks Mal to use the "wand" to make sure it was real. Mal waved the wand and pointed it at Dude and the latter spoke making Uma think the wand gave him the ability to talk.

Later before Carlos asked Jane out, Dude gave him advice what Carlos gave to Mal during the girl talk, which Carlos thanked him for being man's best friend.

Audrey[]

While the two didn't interact much, she held a low opinion of the VKs, but is shown to be mostly friendly with Carlos.

By Wicked World though, she has the least problem with him and Jay. In "Neon Lights Out" she was not amuse with Ally's honesty with Carlos and she noticed he looked rough even more than usual and finds his choice of Tuxedo to be ridiculous (which was white with giant black Dalmatian spots).

In Descendants: The Royal Wedding, when Audrey alerted Mal of her father accidentally burning the bridge, she appeared to be aware that Mal, Evie, and Jay were having a moment of their deceased friend Carlos and apologized for ruining it.

Lonnie[]

She didn't interact much with him though she saw him, Jay, Mal and Evie bake cookies and asked if his parents did since she thought the VKs' parents loved them, he didn't answer. Lonnie apologized for being insensitive.

In "Talking Heads", when Audrey accused Mal of turning evil again, Carlos ended arguing with Jane and Lonnie.

In Descendants 2, Carlos had welcome Lonnie onto the Swords and Shields team before Chad told all of them the rules. Later Lonnie over heard him and Jay making a fake wand to save Ben. Lonnie threaten to blackmail the two, forcing Carlos and Jay to take her with them. After Lonnie was made captain of the Swords and Shields team, Carlos welcomed her again due to Jay finding a loophole in the rule book.

Doug[]

He had no interaction with him but it can be implied they got along due to their association with Evie.

In Descendants 2, when Carlos covered for Evie, who was on the Isle with Mal, Carlos claimed to Doug that Evie was camping, which made Doug suspicious.

Chad Charming[]

Carlos had no interaction with Chad but it is shown that Carlos is mostly kind to Chad and Chad is nice to Carlos. In the first film, Chad didn't mention Carlos during the Family Day, when he insulted Mal, Evie, and Jay. Although it is unknown if this was because he though Carlos was a weakling or because he was aware that Carlos didn't create any damage like his friends.

In Descendants 2, Chad admired Carlos' modified 3D printer which Carlos was annoyed by Chad's constant breaking ins to use his 3D printer. When Carlos and Jay came back, Carlos was annoyed that Chad was in his room, without permission, to use the upgraded 3D-printer when he was in the middle of making an action figure of himself. He found the two replicating Fairy Godmother's Wand, not knowing the truth behind the reason because he was surprised that Dude can talk.

In Descendants 3, Chad attended Jane's birthday, suggested to Jane that Carlos probably had forgotten that it was her birthday, which hearing Jane defend her boyfriend made him back off.

Jace and Harry Badun[]

Jace and Harry Badun are Carlos's minions, who his mother Cruella force them together. Despite Carlos considering them his second and third best friend, Carlos treats them well and is mostly kind to them.

Freddie Facilier[]

The two didn't interact much but it is presumed they are friends especially since the two are VKs.

In Carpet Jacked, Freddie was worried with the others when Carlos and Jay didn't pick them up.

In "Steal Away", Carlos was the one who concluded that the necklace, Freddie gave Mal had her Birthright Jew which Freddie didn't know it was cured or was in there.

Although Freddie snaps at Carlos' overreaction when they're stuck in a lamp, baffled that he is having claustrophobia in such a large room.

Ally[]

The two had little interaction, but she was shown to be distrusting of VKs and annoyed when he and Jay didn't come to pick her and the others up (not knowing he was carpet jacked). She also admitted to not worrying about him when he didn't show up showing how rude she is. Although needless to say, Carlos or one of the other VKs told Ally that Mal was controlled by her cursed Birthright Jewel.

Fairy Godmother[]

Carlos is the boyfriend of Fairly Godmother's daughter Jane. The two have a friendly relationship, as she welcomed Carlos to Auradon on the first day and in Descendants 2, she accepted Carlos dating her daughter Jane.

After Carlos' passing Fairy Godmother was sadden by his death.

After Uma mentioned she just wanted to honor his memory and invite Princess Red from Wonderland, due to Auradon's bad history with Wonderland Fairy Godmother was touch and agreed, despite being reluctant at first.

Uma[]

After Mal and Uma had a fallout, Carlos stuck with Mal making Uma an enemy of Carlos but once the barrier had been taken down, Uma changed her ways and changed her ways on how she acted towards the three, including Carlos.

Descendants The Rise of Red Photos of Uma's friends 1

When Carlos passed away, Uma was saddened, and kept pictured of him with the other VKs on her ship and continued to carry it with her.

Uma carried her grief even by the time of Descendants: The Rise of Red. After Mal appointed Uma to being the new Principal of Auradon Prep, Uma tells Fairy Godmother that she is going to shake things up by letting all the kingdoms attend Auradon Prep, including Wonderland. Uma gives Fairy Godmother an invitation for Princess Red to come to Auradon Prep. Initially, Fairy Godmother tells Uma "Are you sure?" then Uma tells Fairy Godmother to do it for Carlos in honor of him and looks at picture frame of her friend Carlos on the wall in her office with tears coming down her face. Fairy Godmother agrees to use her magic wand to send the letter to Princess Red to Wonderland in honor of Carlos.

Gil[]

At first, Carlos didn't like Gil due to him being on Uma's side. Carlos fought Gil and manage to defeat him twice. In the third movie, Carlos saved Gil from a beast Ben.

Harry Hook[]

At first, Carlos didn't like Gil due to him being on Uma's side. Given how Harry gave a Carlos a dog bark, it is implied Harry was one of the VKs who bullied Carlos. In the third movie, Carlos saved Gil from a beast Ben. When Jane arrived Harry tried to hit on Jane, but Carlos told him she was already taken.

CJ Hook[]

Carlos was annoyed to find out she carpet jacked him and Jay. After Zevon shrunk him CJ took pleasure in making fun of Carlos extra small size.

Zevon[]

Carlos appears to be aware of Zevon, as he was annoyed at seeing him again and kelps him continue to tell how he got off the Isle when he got a bit distracted with Mal.
