Due to his upbringing in Auradon, he saw the Villain Kids as extensions of their parents and believed them to be just as evil. On the day that Ben suggested four Villain Kids were to attend Auradon Prep, Chad became arrogant, not liking them though used Evie's romantic feelings for him to his advantage until the latter was convinced by Mal that she could be better. Despite being selfish, he can be easily humbled and scared by beings with higher power such as Maleficent.[1]
Although he had spent six months with the Villain Kids, Chad still believed himself to be better and showed jealousy when Jay was chosen as Captain of the Tourney Team and was quick to further stir trouble when he began insisting that Lonnie could not join the sport as she was a girl only to be once again humbled when Jay introduced Lonnie as the new Captain. During when Jay and Carlos were preparing to head back to the Isle of the Lost to rescue Ben, Chad was quick to leave himself for Sherwood Forest to help Audrey, believing she still loved him.[2]
On the day that Audrey became influenced by the power of Maleficent's Scepter, Chad attempted to save himself by agreeing to stand by her throughout her plans only to discarded of, instead becoming frightened and wanting to hide before being founded in Fairy Cottage.[3]

Upon the arrival of Mal, Jay, Evie and Carlos De Vil, Chad showed no signs of sympathy towards them and instead believed they were trouble, going as far as to agree with Audrey's statement that they were trouble. After becoming classmates with Evie, he uses her feelings for him to his advantage by convincing her to do his homework. Chad then became Audrey's boyfriend after Ben declared his love for Mal. During Family Day, Chad then belittles Mal for stealing Ben from Audrey, Jay for hurting people and Evie for being a cheater before the latter used a sleeping potion on him. After waking up, Chad eventually convinced Doug to be distant from the four Villain Kids.
During coronation, Chad becomes one of many victims to Maleficent's freezing spell only to be unfrozen once Mal, Jay, Evie and Carlos defeat Maleficent by turning her into a lizard. After the coronation, he danced with Lonnie and Doug.
Chad feigned a friendship with Jay only to cause an incident that resulted in the latter's face being bruised. Upon learning of the issue, Ben confronted Chad and ordered him to be a better person around the Villain Kids. The following morning, Ben took Chad back to Cinderellasburg to investigate a series of activity with Chad under the impression it was to go over plans with The Grand Duke about an upcoming ball. After returning to Auradon, Chad then apologised to Jay.
After seeing Jay become Captain of the Tourney team, Chad became jealous, believing himself to be the better option. After witnessing a masked Lonnie fight Jay with ease, he told her she could not join the team as she hoped as the sport was only open for the male students. He was later humbled by Jay when the latter stepped down as Captain, giving the role to Lonnie.
Noticing that Carlos and Jay's room was unoccupied, Chad began entering it without permission to make several items with the upgraded 3D-printer, he was eventually discovered by Carlos and Jay when he was in the middle of making an action figure of himself. After remaining outside the room, he found the two replicating Fairy Godmother's Wand, not knowing the truth behind the reason. Upon getting a call from Audrey who stated she was in Sherwood Forest and stuck due to a flat tire, he left to go get her, missing the Royal Cotillion in the process.
On the morning that four new Villain Kids were to arrive in Auradon, Chad stood with Queen Leah and Audrey, being disappointed when Ben proposed to Mal, he then grabs Audrey upon seeing her faint. On the day of Jane's birthday, he attended and suggested that Carlos had forgotten that it was a special day for the former. Seeing Audrey place the attendees under a sleeping spell, Chad convinced her to keep him by her side to which she agrees to.
Eventually, Chad is sent away by Audrey for his incompetence only for him to be founded by Mal, Jay, Evie, Carlos, Uma and Harry Hook. Once Audrey was saved, Chad attended the celebration in which the barrier around the Isle of the Lost, dancing with Audrey.
On the day that Cinderella was to attend Auradon Prep's welcome ceremony for potential new students with Chloe, she questioned King Charming if he was sure he could not attend with the latter claiming he had to stay behind due to having promised Chad that he would attend his Tourney game at college.
Trivia[]
In School of Secrets, it is seen in "Day 12: Found" that he loses his phone, being found by the Secret Blogger, and it is revealed through his contact list that he may be leading on several girls.
Later in Descendants it is shown that he has not yet recovered his phone, as he asks Evie's Magic Mirror where his cell phone is.
His meeting-card says: born in Charming Providence. However, Charmington is home to Snow White and Prince Florian Charming. So it would be more likely that he was born in Cinderellasburg. However, it is possible that while Charmington is home to Snow White and her husband, Charming Providence is a province in Cinderellasburg.
He is a reverse of the Villain Kids, a child of a hero doing rotten things by choice. He also appears to be the opposite of his mother, coming off as someone with an ego and not someone with a good heart.
He and Doug are the only main Descendants characters who appeared in all the three first films but do not appear in the animated short series Descendants: Wicked World.
