Biography
McClain is best known to kids and families worldwide for her starring role as music prodigy Chyna Parks in Disney Channel's popular series "A.N.T. Farm," as well as her co-starring role as math and science genius Gabby in the Disney Channel Original Movie "How to Build a Better Boy." McClain received an NAACP Image Award for her work in "A.N.T. Farm."
McClain is also recognized for her starring role as the feisty Jazmine Payne in the series, "Tyler Perry's House of Payne." A talented singer, she was also featured on the ABC variety talent competition series "Sing Your Face Off," in which she transformed into and performed as musical icons Alicia Keys, Whitney Houston, James Brown, Rihanna, and Michael Jackson, among others.
She made her feature film debut in the "The Gospel," as opposite Idris Elba and Nona Gaye. Soon after, McClain landed a role in Tyler Perry’s feature film "Daddy's Little Girls," along with her sisters Sierra and Lauryn McClain. Additional acting credits include feature films "Grown Ups", "Grown Ups 2" (both with future Descendants 2 co-star Cameron Boyce), and "Hurricane Season," and guest star roles on numerous hit television series, including "The Night Shift," "Bones," "NCIS," Disney Channel's "Wizards of Waverly Place," "JONAS L.A." and "Hannah Montana."
McClain is set to star as teen superhero Lightning, in the upcoming DC superhero drama series "Black Lightning," debuting early in 2018.
Born August 25, 1998, in Atlanta, Georgia, McClain currently resides in Los Angeles with her family.
