Different users have access to different functions of the site. While anyone can do most things on the site, including reading and editing, the Staff can access a few additional functions.

Who are part of the Staff team?

The Staff team consist of a group of users with several additional functions that allows them to keep the wiki well organised. The Staff team consists of Bureaucrats, Administrators and Moderators.

What are the Staff's duties?

The Staff team has two main duties: monitoring the general activity and aiding users in all matters within the Descendants Wiki. Users can contact any Staff if they need assistance in:

  • Technical issues such as editing, text formatting, page moving and media uploading.
  • Content verification and source checking to confirm if certain information can be trusted or not.
  • General queries, any questions or proposals relating to the wiki's content.
  • Reporting an user for vandalism or misconduct.
  • Getting in touch with other users.

What can the Staff do?

In general, all Staff can:

  • Delete and undelete pages, category pages, comments, messages, images and videos.
  • Lock (Protect) pages so they cannot be edited or renamed by users without permission. They can also remove said protection from pages.
  • Send Reminder and Warning messages to users when they commit an infraction.
  • Answer any queries or proposals on behalf of the entire Staff team.

Only Bureaucrats and Administrators can:

  • Block and unblock users.
  • Modify the wiki's appearance and general interface.

Who are the Bureaucrats?

The Bureaucrats have the rank of Head Administrators. They have the same abilities as other Administrators, in addition to the ability to give other users the rank of Bureaucrat, Administrator or Moderator, and to remove said ranks.

The Bureaucrats of the Descendants Wiki are:

Who are the Administrators?

The Administrators , or Admins, are directly below the Bureaucrats. They have the same abilities as the Bureaucrats with the exception of promoting or demoting ranks.

The Administrators of the Descendants Wiki are:

Who are the Moderators?

The Moderators , or Mods, are directly below the Administrators. There are two types of Moderators: Content Moderators and Discussion Moderators. Unlike Bureaucrats and Administrators, they cannot block or unblock users.

Other FANDOM Staff

FANDOM Staff have full access to all wiki pages. They will be shown in Special:Listusers/staff on any wiki. Please use Special:Contact to contact FANDOM staff. Keep in mind that the FANDOM Staff are not the same as the Descendants Wiki Staff.

They are responsible for monitoring the wiki and fighting vandalism when Descendants Wiki Staff are unavailable. They have the same abilities as Bureaucrats.

How do I use administrator powers?

See Help:Administrators' how-to guide for a guide on using admin functions.

Becoming a Staff

For an user to become a member of the Staff team, a Bureaucrat must make them one. Any user can apply to be part of the Staff team as long as they meet the basic requisites.

Staff applications are currently closed.

Users that aspire to apply for any Staff position are encouraged to contribute actively in the meantime. When applications are open, active users with a clean profile will have higher chance to be approved.

What can administrators not do?

Administrators should not use their administrator powers to settle editing disputes; for example, to lock a page on a version he or she prefers in an editing dispute that isn't vandalism. Administrator powers should be used to help keep the wiki clear of vandalism, spam, and users who make malicious edits, but not for simple disagreements between users acting in good faith. Ideally an admin shouldn't be considered "in charge". The ideal admin is just someone who is trusted to have a few extra buttons and to use them for the benefit of the Wikia community.

What can the staff not do?

Staff should not overuse their power as a symbol of strength. Staff should be aware that being part of this community is a job and a responsibility thus ignoring their jobs and vandalising instead of helping will be removed. Staff are people who are always here to help you and guide you through your editing. They are here for you and for your problems.
