Eugene as he appears originally in Tangled.
After stealing the crown from the castle in the Kingdom of Corona, he flees to the forest, where after abandoning his partners, the Stabbignton Brothers, he hides in a tower. There he meets Rapunzel, a girl who, after confiscating her crown, promises to return it to her if she takes her to see her flying lanterns.
After a trip through the forest, they finally arrive in Corona, where they both enjoy the lanterns. But after being ambushed by the Stabbingtons, Eugene ends up arrested for having the crown in his possession. After seeing the Stabbingtons locked up and discovering from them that Gothel hired them to separate him from Rapunzel, Flynn escaped and fled to the tower, where Gothel attacked him.
Badly injured, with a last effort Eugene cut Rapunzel's hair, which gave life to Gothel, who aged until she turned into ash. Once they were both safe, Eugene accompanied Rapunzel to Corona, where she was reunited with her real parents, the king and queen, and Eugene was able to start a new life with Rapunzel.
