Fay, better known as Fairy Godmother, is a character originating from Disney's 1950 animated film Cinderella. She appears as a major character of the film Descendants, as well a supporting character in its sequels, Descendants 2 and Descendants 3, and in their spin-off, Descendants: The Rise of Red.
She is one of the heroes of Auradon and she is also the mother of Jane. She is the former headmistress of Auradon Prep. She accepts the children of the Isle of the Lost into Auradon Prep and teaches them Remedial Goodness 101 lessons. After giving the role of headmistress to Uma, she is the new president of Auradon University.
Fairy Godmother is portrayed by Melanie Paxson, who also voiced the character in Descendants: The Royal Wedding, whereas Grace Narducci portrays her teenaged self, Fay, in Descendants: The Rise of Red.

After Cinderella's stepsisters destroy her dress to go to the ball at the palace, the Fairy Godmother appears before her to help her. With her magic words, "Bibbidi-Bobbidi-Boo", the Fairy Godmother turned a pumpkin into a carriage, as well as turning Cinderella's animal friends into horses and servants.
After that, the Fairy Godmother gave Cinderella a dress for the dance and some glass shoes, but she warned her that at midnight the spell would be broken and everything would return to normal.
Personality[]
Fairy Godmother is a wise, kind, and accepting teacher at Auradon Prep school. She accepted Ben's proclamation of giving the new generation a chance. She tried her best to be patient with them and even gave them the opportunity to speak to their parents. She also tried to defend them on family day and trusted Mal to give her back the wand, being extremely proud when she and the other VKs did so and turned good. She can be strict especially with her daughter. She has given up magic and believes it is what is in the inside that counts. Jane mentions her mother believes the true magic comes from knowledge and books. Despite having given up on magic, she gets annoyed when the villains insult her magic.
When Fay was teenager she is described as someone who is comical in her struggles with developing her magical ability.

Fairy Godmother has short, dark brown hair and is often seen in a short-sleeved formal blue shirt, with golden buttons and a shirt collar. She has a blue necklace and a velvet, bow that matches the bow of the animated Fairy Godmother in the animated Disney movie Cinderella.
