Beast[]

King Beast is the male protagonist of the 1991 animated film Beauty and the Beast. He is the husband of Belle and father of Ben. He is also the founder of Auradon an the former king before his son's coronation.

Belle[]

Queen Belle is the female protagonist of the 1991 animated film Beauty and the Beast. She is the wife of Beast and mother of Ben. She is also one of the founders of Auradon an the former queen before her son's coronation.

Aladdin[]

Sultan Aladdin is the protagonist of the 1992 animated film Aladdin. He is the husband of Jasmine and father of Aziz.

Alice[]

Anita Radcliffe[]

In the novel Escape from the Isle of the Lost, while Hades thinks he should be with other deities, one among those he thinks about is Aphrodite, reminding her as beautiful.[1]

Cinderella's birds[]

The Birdsare a group of characters in the 1951 animated film "Cinderella". In "Descendants 3: The Villain Kids' Guide for new vks" it is mentioned that the mice and birds of the city Cerentola spend their days polishing and sweeping the streets in honor of Cinderella.

Cogsworth[]

Dalmatians[]

Dalmatians

The Dalmatians as they appear originally in 101 Dalmatians.

The Dalmatians are major characters of the 1961 animated film 101 Dalmatians, where they were kidnapped by Cruella De Vil, who intended to make a coat with their skins, until they were rescued by their parents. They are the sons and daughters of Pongo and Perdita; with 15 of them being biological, while another 84 are adopted.

They are mentioned in the novel The Isle of the Lost, where their parents talk about their education, and in the film Descendants, where Maleficent mentions that Cruella will be able to take revenge on them if they escape from the Isle.

They are also referenced in the episode "Day 9: Play" of School of Secrets, where the students of the Drama club have to rewrite the play "What's that spell?" and one of the suggested ideas is "12 Angry Dalmatians."

Duchess and her kittens[]

Duchess and her kittens (Toulouse, Marie and Berlioz) are the protagonists of the 1970 animated film The Aristocats, where, being the heirs to the fortune of their owner, Adelaide Bonfamille, they are kidnapped by her butler Edgar, ending up abandoned far from their home, where they try to return with the help of Thomas O'Malley, a stray cat.

They are referenced in the novel Return to the Isle of the Lost, where Edgar's plan to drown them to get rid of them is mentioned.[3]

Princess Eilonwy is the deuteragonist of the 1985 animated film The Black Cauldron, where after Eilonwy is captured by the Horned King, she and Taran meet, and alongside other friends, the two go on an adventure to stop the Horned King from finding the legendary Black Cauldron.

She is referenced in the comic book Descendants: Fright at the Museum, where a plaque in the Museum of Cultural History mentions her as the former owner of the Golden Pelydryn.

Geppetto is a main character of the 1940 animated film Pinocchio, where he made a wooden puppet, Pinocchio, which came to life because he wished upon a star, becoming his son.

He is referenced in the Descendants: Wicked World episode "Steal Away", where is workshop is seen.[4] He is also the grandfather of Pin.

Hercules[]

Hercules is the protagonist of the 1997 animated film Hercules, where, being the newborn son of the gods Zeus and Hera, he was kidnapped by Pain and Panic and transformed into a mortal, so when he grew up he had to prove to be a hero to be able to be with the other gods of Olympus, having in his way the obstacles imposed by his uncle Hades.

He is the father of Herkie. He is mentioned in the episode "Day 14: Fight" of School of Secrets, where Ben and Best Bro discuss who would win in a fight between Hercules and Beast. In the book Descendants: Mal's Spell Book, Mal has him listed among other heroes as "The Most Reviled Do-Gooders".[5] In the novel Escape from the Isle of the Lost, Uma comments to Hades that no one remembers him, and everybody talk about is Hercules.[6]

Hermes is a minor character of the 1997 animated film Hercules, being one of the gods on Olympus, in his case being the god of travelers and messenger of the other gods.

In the novel Escape from the Isle of the Lost, while Hades thinks he should be with other deities, one among those he thinks about is Hermes, reminding him as snarky.[1]

The Huntsman[]

The Huntsmanis a supporting character in the 1937 animated film Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs. In "Descendants 3: The Villain Kids' Guide for new vks" it is mentioned that his story is taught in the "History of Woodsmen and Pirates" class.

John Darling is a major character of the 1953 animated film Peter Pan, where he, his older sister Wendy, and his little brother Michael, were taken by Peter Pan to visit Neverland.

He is mentioned in the book Carlos's Scavenger Hunt, where Jane says that when she was interning for Carina Potts they threw a big birthday bash for his son.[7]

John Smith is the deuteragonist of the 1995 animated film Pocahontas, where he is a settler who, after meeting the native of the New World Pocahontas, both try to seek peace between their two peoples.

He is referenced in Descendants 2, where a image of him with Pocahontas can be seen in a stained glass of the ship where the Cotillion is celebrated.[8]

The King is a supporting character of the 1950 animated film Cinderella, where he wants his son to find a wife.

He is the father of King Charming, father-in-law of Cinderella, and grandfather of Chad and Chloe Charming.

He is briefly referenced in the novel Escape from the Isle of the Lost, where it is mentioned that his son and Cinderella went to visit him.[9]

King Hubert[]

King Hubert is a supporting character of the 1959 animated film Sleeping Beauty. He is the father of Prince Phillip and paternal grandfather of Audrey. He is a great friend of King Stefan, with whom he wished for the marriage union between his daughter Aurora and Phillip.

He is briefly referenced in the novel The Isle of the Lost, where it is mentioned that he had declared that the forty-room palace he had built for Aurora and Phillip was a mere starter home for the royal newlyweds, since now they have their own castle.[10]

The Lost boys are a group of characters from the 1953 animated film Peter Pan. the group is made up of Cubby, Slightly, Nibs, Tootles and the Twins. In Descendants 3: The Villain Kids' Guide for New VKs it is mentioned that The Lost Boys are wild and friendly, Evie says that they are very annoying. It is also mentioned that they and Peter Pan fought against Captain Hook and his pirates in Hook's Bay.

She stands out for being the only character originating from a Disney-Pixar film to appear in the Descendants universe.

Neverland Mermaids[]

The Neverland Mermaids are a group of characters from the 1953 animated film Peter Pan. In Descendants 3: The Villain Kids Guide for New VKs Evie mentions that Doug took her to the Mermaid Lagoon in Neverland.

He is mentioned in the book Descendants: Mal's Spell Book, where Mal has him listed among other heroes as "The Most Reviled Do-Gooders".[5] In the book School of Secrets: CJ's Treasure Chase, Freddie Facilier mentions him when comparing CJ to her father, telling her that just as Captain Hook was obsessed with getting revenge on Peter Pan she is obsessed with her map.[12] In the film Descendants: The Rise of Red, after Merlin is warned by Archimedes that there are intruders in his office, he mentions that he hopes it is not a false alarm like seeing Peter Pan's shadow.[13]

In the novel Escape from the Isle of the Lost, one of the objectives in the Senior Quest is bring back one of Rajah's collars, mentioning that he had quite a collection.[17] During the quest, Jay screamed when Rajah caught him sneaking away with one of his jeweled collars.[18]

He is mentioned in the book Descendants: Mal's Spell Book, where Mal has him listed among other heroes as "The Most Reviled Do-Gooders".[5] He is also mentioned in the novel Escape from the Isle of the Lost, where after Jay meets his son, he tells him that his father is a legend.[19] Later, Jay receives an online letter of admission to the Sherwood Forest University signed by Robin Hood.[20]

Zeus is a major character of the 1997 animated film Hercules, being the god of lightning and ruler of Olympus, in addition to the father of Hercules, whom he guides to become a hero. He is also the husband of Hera and brother of Hades, thus also being the uncle of Mal and Hadie.

In the novel Escape from the Isle of the Lost, Hades thinks that he might not have a pocketful of lightning bolts like his brother Zeus, who he remembers as annoying, but he still had his ember.[28] Uma also comments to Hades that Zeus is just having a ball up there on Mount Olympus, and that every once in a while he throws down his lightning bolts just to remind everyone who's in charge.[6] Later, Hades considers whether he should call him or Athena to warn them of his escape from the Isle of the Lost once he had achieved it.[2]

The Headless Horseman is the main antagonist of the segment The Legend of Sleepy Hollow from the 1949 animated film The Adventures of Ichabod and Mr. Toad. Unlike other villains sent to the Isle of the Lost, he remained hidden in the forests of Auradon.

Maleficent[]

Maleficent is the main antagonist of the 1959 animated film Sleeping Beauty. She is the mother of Mal. After being transformed into a lizard during the climax of Descendants, she was locked up in Auradon in that form for a time, until she returned to the Isle of the Lost in Descendants 2.

The Knights of the Round Table are a group of characters from The Arthurian legend, the group is made up of Arthur, Bors, Percival, Lancelot, Mordred, Geraint, Bedivere, Tristan, Galahad and Gawain. They are mentioned in Descendants 3: the Villain Kids' Guide for New VKs and their names appear written on the round table in Descendants: The Rise of Red.

Lexi Rose[]

Lexi Rose is a character who is mentioned in the novel Return to the Isle of the Lost. She is a fairy of Neverland that Faylinn Chime mentions as the one in charge of analyzing the scales that Ben gave her.[30] Later, Faylinn tells Ben that Lexi Rose remembered seeing something similar recently.[31]
