List of Descendants prequels is a list of the films that occurred before the events of Descendants, along with their respective characters that appear in the franchise.

The story within the Descendants universe takes place after the films produced by Walt Disney Animation Studios, also often referred to as the "Disney Animated Canon", while a film produced by Pixar Animation Studios is also referenced as part of this universe. The franchise is focused on the productions prior to 2015, when the Descendants franchise began.

Three Little Pigs

Three little pigs build their houses, but they are destroyed by the Big Bad Wolf when he tries to catch them.

Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs

After the Evil Queen tries to kill her stepdaughter, the princess Snow White, for being more beautiful than her, the princess flees into the forest where she is rescued by seven dwarf miners who give her shelter in their home.

Pinocchio

(1940)
When the woodworker Geppetto sees a falling star, he wishes that the puppet he just finished, Pinocchio, could become a real boy. In the night, the Blue Fairy grants Geppetto's wish and asks Jiminy Cricket to serve as the wooden boy's conscience. But the naive and trusting Pinocchio falls into the clutches of bad influences.

Fantasia

(1940)
Film that includes several segments, among them: "The Sorcerer's Apprentice", where Mickey Mouse is the apprentice of the sorcerer Yen Sid, and after obtaining his master's hat, Mickey creates chaos after giving life to a broom; "Night on Bald Mountain", where the devil Chernabog awakes and summons evil spirits in the night.

Dumbo

(1941)
A young circus elephant is born with comically large ears and given the cruel nickname Dumbo. One day at a show, he is taunted by a group of kids, inciting his mother into a rage that gets her locked up. After Dumbo's ears cause an accident that injures many of the other elephants, he is made to dress like a clown and perform dangerous stunts. Everything changes when Dumbo discovers that his enormous ears actually allow him to fly, and he astounds everyone at the circus with his new talent.

The Adventures of Ichabod and Mr. Toad

(1949)
Film made up of two segments: "The Wind in the Willows", where Mr. Toad is tricked by a group of weasels into exchanging the Toad Hall estate for a car, without knowing that it was stolen; and "The Legend of Sleepy Hollow", where Ichabod Crane rivals Brom Bones for the attention of Katrina van Tassel, and after Brom Bones tells the legend about the Headless Horseman to scare his superstitious rival, Ichabod fears an encounter with said character.

Cinderella

(1950)
Cinderella lives working as a maid for her wicked stepmother and stepsisters. When a ball is held at the palace, the Fairy Godmother appears before to give Cinderella a dresses after her stepsisters ripped the one that her mouse friends made for her. Once at the ball, Cinderella meets the prince, and they both end up falling in love.

Lady and the Tramp

(1955)
Lady is a refined cocker spaniel, who after her owners have a baby fears that they will forget about her because of the warnings that Tramp, a stray dog, gives her. After Aunt Sarah is left to take care of the baby and Lady, she tries to put a muzzle on her, which forces Lady to run away, encountering Tramp again. And after several experiences while touring the city, they both end up falling in love with each other.

Sleeping Beauty

(1959)
During the baptism of the newborn Princess Aurora, the evil fairy Maleficent casts a spell on her so that when she turns sixteen she will die after being pricked by the spindle of a spinning wheel. Although the fairy Merryweather manages to change the spell so that the princess only falls into a deep sleep from which she will awaken with true love's kiss, as a precaution she and her fellow fairies Flora and Fauna raise Aurora in the forest until the appointed day arrives.

England is in the midst of a dark age and without a proper king. Young "Wart", an orphan and squire-in-training, is content with kitchen duties in his foster home, until he drops in on the extraordinary wizard Merlin and his articulate owl, Archimedes. The Aristocats

(1971)
Duchess is an upper-class cat from Paris who lives with her three kittens in Adelaide Bonfamille's mansion. When Adelaide's butler, Edgar, discovers that the cats will get her inheritance, he plans to get rid of them so that he can be her sole heir. Duchess and her children end up abandoned far from Paris, and with the help of a stray cat, Thomas O'Malley, they travel a long journey to return home.

The Lion King
